Color Safari (Exploring Inks and Paints)
Art Challenge: Inks
Journal Prompt: Before the Ink is Dry
First I started by drawing circles with ink and then spraying the page with water to let the color mix and spread.
Once the background was finished. I used black pigment ink and a stick to draw the masked girl. The background was still slightly damp so I didn’t have to add any more water to the page. The ink immediately started to spread and so I just left it to do it’s thing.
Using stencils and spray ink I added more layers to the other side of the page.
Once the girl was dry, I used colored ink to add a bit of color to her hair, dress and mask.
Using a white sharpie paint pen I added flower doodles into the black background.
Then with black pen I wrote some of my favorite Natalie Goldberg quotes.
